Physical Education Policies and Procedures


The information below is to acquaint students and parents with knowledge of the procedures and guidelines to be followed in Physical Education class at Wolf Lake Middle School.

DRESSING REQUIREMENT

Dressing out is a requirement of Physical Education.
 Student may not wear the same clothing for the school day and PE class
 Athletic Shoes – Gym shoes and socks must be worn at all times. NON ATHLETIC SHOES ARE CONSIDERED NOT DRESSED OUT. No Exceptions!!!!!!
 No double dressing! Students are NOT to wear PE clothes over school clothes (ex. shorts over a pair of jeans)
 Students who are considerate not “dressed out” will be assigned an area by their teacher.
 Students should be in dress code at ALL times. Removal of clothes and/or shoes may result in loss of dressing out points and removal from that activity

Uniform point deductions:
Wrong color shirt - 2pts
Wrong color shorts - 2pts
Wearing jewelry - 2pts

Shirts with buttons or collars, cargo shorts, pants, jeans, or non-athletic shoes are all considered “NOT DRESSED OUT” and are graded as a ZERO.

LOCKER ROOM

All students will be required to bring a COMBINATION lock to secure his/her belongings. All personal items must be locked in the lockers during class.
 Lockers are NOT to be shared. You will be assigned a locker in the beginning of the year.
 Do NOT share lock combinations.
 All valuable items including, jewelry and electronic devices should be locked in the locker.
NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PE ACTIVITY AREAS
 Personal hygiene items must be kept in plastic, non-breakable containers.
 NO FOOD ALLOWED IN THE LOCKER ROOM
 No running or horse playing
 No photos or videos inside the locker room. No SNAPCHATS
 Students are allowed 3 minutes to change in the locker room
 Students will promptly exit the locker room when instructed
 Students are not allowed to touch the TV inside the locker room
 Students may not enter coaches office without permission

Wolf Lake Middle School and the Physical Education coaches are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Students are responsible for securing their personal property.

TRANSITIONS

Students are to report to the locker room at the beginning of each class period.
 Students must enter and exit locker room by designated door.
 During PE class, students must report straight to their assigned area and wait for further instructions.
 Students should use locker room restrooms BEFORE transitioning to their assigned area.
 During transitions students must keep hands and feet to their selves. (No playing fighting, wrestling, pantsing, throwing water, etc…)
 Do not touch any equipment till the coaches tells you to do so.
 Inappropriate language and/or the use of foul language will not be tolerated and may result in loss of participation for that class session.
 Students are not allowed on PE areas outside their class period.

DURING CLASS

 NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PE ACTIVITY AREAS
 When outdoors students may ONLY use the outside water fountains and bathrooms.
 Students may not leave the assigned area without permission from coaches
 Students MUST follow end of period activity procedures.
 Being late to activity area may result in loss of participation for that class session
 Inappropriate language, foul language and poor sportsmanship during activities will not be tolerated and may result in loss of participation points and removal from that activity
 Students MUST follow all coaches instruction at all times due safety reasons.

DISMISSAL

 Students may not leave the locker room until the coaches dismiss them
 Students must use designated doors to exit locker room
 Students should pick up after their selves before exiting the locker room

CONSEQUENCIES

The above rules and procedures must be followed at all times during PE. Students who choose not follow will be subject to the disciplinary actions below:
 Verbal warning
 Parent phone call
 Administrative talk
 Referral
