General Course Outline
Art is a year long study in art and art appreciation. Students will study artist, art history, the elements and principles of design, and various art techniques.

3 Pronged Folder with Pockets (this will stay in class)
Pencils
Erasers

Pencils
Colored pencils
Sharpeners
Erasers
Hand sanitizer
Baby wipes
Paper towels
$5 Annual Suggested Donation

PROGRESS AND GRADING:

The grading system for this course will be based upon effort and personal progress. Each lesson will have a list of objectives and/ or a rubric that students are expected to achieve. Assignments will be given points.

All assignments and power points will be posted to Canvas.  All assignments will also be turned in through Canvas.  If you need help with this process, please let me know.

MAKE-UP WORK:

If a student is absent they have the number of days they were absent plus one day to make up missed work. 

LATE WORK:

Late work is accepted. Some students may feel that they need extra time, therefore there will be time finish an assignment on the student's own time.  This may require special arrangements to work before or after school. 

Backpacks and Cell Phones:

Cell phone should be in backpack and backpacks are to be placed at the front of the classroom during class. This is a school policy.  Computer may be used for academic purposed at the teacher’s discretion.  Computers should be charged at the start of the school day.

WELL ROUNDED WEDNESDAYS

Did you hear about the latest art trend?
Do you know how math is used in art?
Have you heard about the latest art heist??!...

Wednesdays will be dedicated to investigating art articles and other interdisciplinary studies.  Lessons and drawings from these days will be kept in a specific area in the art folder.

ONE MAN'S TRASH IS ANOTHER MANS TREASURE!

Many items considered "trash" are a treasure in the art room such as:
Styrofoam egg cartons
Old Instruments
Craft items
Plastic Target / Publix bags
Plastic containers with lids
Fake flowers

Items that are always needed in art:  baby wipes, paper towels, antibacterial hand sanitizer.
